CPD ACCREDITED TRAINING

Practical self talk training for teachers.

Manage self talk. Handle pressure. Build confidence at work.

The conversation no one else hears

Every working day, teachers are talking to themselves — often without even realising it.

Can I handle this class? What if this lesson goes wrong? I should have dealt with that better. What will they think of me?

Those words can affect confidence, focus, decision-making and how we respond when the pressure is on - in the classroom and beyond.

The Self Talk Academy teaches teachers how to take greater control of that conversation.

The Self Talk Method

A practical way to take control of the conversation.

The Self Talk Method teaches teachers how to use self talk deliberately, particularly when confidence, focus and performance matter most.

Rather than allowing automatic self talk to take over, teachers learn practical techniques they can use in the classroom, meetings, difficult conversations with parents and other challenging moments at work.

Training for teachers and schools

Choose the option that works best for you or your staff.

In person training for teachers

Join a scheduled training day, either independently or through your school. Learn alongside teachers from different settings and explore practical ways to use The Self Talk Method in everyday working life.

INSET training for schools

Bring The Self Talk Method directly to your staff with a dedicated training day. Practical, interactive training focused on the real pressures and challenges teachers face at work.

Where self talk makes a difference

The way we talk to ourselves can influence how we think, feel and perform — particularly when the pressure is on.

MORE CONFIDENCE

Managing self-doubt, delivering assemblies or presentations, and feeling more confident in front of colleagues and school leaders.

BETTER UNDER PRESSURE

Staying calm when managing challenging classroom behaviour, responding to unexpected situations and maintaining control when emotions run high.

STRONGER COMMUNICATION

Handling challenging conversations with parents, navigating parents' evenings and communicating confidently in meetings.

What the training involves

Practical. Interactive. Built for the realities of teaching.

This isn’t a day of sitting and listening. Teachers explore how self talk shows up throughout their working day and learn practical ways to take greater control of it.

During the training, teachers will:

  • Explore how self talk can influence thoughts, feelings and behaviour

  • Recognise when automatic self talk is taking over

  • Apply The Self Talk Method to real situations teachers face at work

  • Develop practical self talk strategies they can use straight away

  • Practise through discussion, reflection and activities

  • "I use the cue phrases before speaking to parents. They have helped me find the confidence to deal with tricky conversations.
